Tiki Eavy, affectionately known
as the Grand Dame of Bennington Hollow, is an elegant Yorkshire
Terrier. She was born in Iowa and made her way to Virginia via
New Jersey. She has cataracts and deposits that cloud her vision.
But they do not stop her from seeing the world her way-free of
fear and full of love and remembrance.
Tiger Warger, Tiki's longtime
best friend, is a cuddley Maltese. He was born in Missouri and
made his way to Virginia via New Jersey. He goes for acupuncture
every three weeks to reduce the pain in his leg that resulted
from a hereditary condition. He sees the world as happy and joyful,
playful and fun. He rolls on his back a lot. He says that's how
he likes best to see the world, as one giant cuddle.
Tiki loves taking long walks
and sitting in the sun on the back deck. Tiger, on the other
hand, prefers cuddling on your lap and taking rides in the car.
They both love asparagus!
Tiki and Tiger have been frequent
guests on the Comcast Cable program, Dateline Reston. They have
co-hosted the program's holiday special live from Santa Paws
at the Reston Town Center for more than 6 years.
Meet Our New Additions-Marigold and
Oliver
Tiger and Tiki welcome two
new additions to Bennington Hollow-Marigold and Oliver.
Marigold is a 5 pound Papillon
with lots of spirit and spunk. She comes from the Astra Kennel
in Williamsburg, home of numerous show dogs. Her uncle, Designated
Driver, showed at Westminster-quite an accomplishment!
Although Marigold has no interest
in the show world-she has a lot of show quality to her. While
growing up with the Hardee clan-cousin Bella in particular-Marigold
learned how to prance, dance, and pose for photos. She loves
toys.
(Read what the breeder, Jean
Keating, had to say about Marigold's
arrival. PDF)
Oliver is a 2 ½ pound Japanese
Chin from the Cherbo Kennel. Although Chins were bred as lap
dogs, you'll rarely find Oliver sitting on one. He is one busy
little fellow-constantly on the go, Oliver likes to tumble, rumble,
and race around. He's fast on his paws too, so look out!
Like Marigold, Oliver shows no interest
in the show world, even though his mother and father are both
champions. Instead, Oliver is focused on investigating everything-don't
be shocked if you find him looking for dust balls under the
credenza, digging for tasty bugs (yes, as Marigold says, "Yuck!
He eats them too!"), or climbing over the ex-pen to get
a better look at a new fallen leaf.

announcement for Oliver. PDF)
Update!
Marigold
and Oliver Turn Three Years Old!
No
longer puppies, Marigold and Oliver have grown into quite
the little adults. Although Marigold will tell you that she
will always think of Oliver as “her little puppy.”
Which is just fine with Oliver, who at 5 pounds to her 9 thinks
playing the role of little brother is great type casting.
Oliver’s
goal is to become a movie star. If you listen closely You
can hear him humming the Ringo Starr tune, “They’re
gonna put me in the movies, they’re gonna make a big
star out of me…” He delights in entertaining.
Although Marigold will tell you that sometimes “he is
just silly!”
“Am not!”
“Are too.”
“Am not! I am a true thespian and a distinguished gentleman.”
And with that, Oliver crosses his paws and takes a regal pose.
Marigold,
on the other hand, has dreams of becoming a spokes model.
Keeping with the literary tradition established by Tiki and
Tiger, Marigold has been keeping a diary of her experiences
in “Ms. Marigold Presents…” and has been
planning a book about her and Oliver for children.
In
the meantime Marigold and Oliver are busy with their new line
of greeting cards, “Smiles All Around.” [Click

Life's Little Treasures Celebrated
In First Offering by Local Author
Reston, VA Tiki Eavy announces
the release of her recently published book, Life through
Tiki's Eyes: With Comment by Tiger.
|
Here we are
with our publicist, Mary, of Myers Public Relations. She says
we are two of her most fun clients! |
Tiki lives in Reston, Virginia,
where she is affectionately known as the Grand Dame of Bennington
Hollow. In this her first book, she shares her wit and wisdom
about her home, the world outside, and the universe. Her friend
and longtime companion, Tiger Warger, lovingly peppers the text
with commentary. The two friends provide a unique perspective
on experiencing the joy in everyday life.
Tiki related her book to Cynthia
L. Warger, who put her words on paper. "Every furry friend
has a spirit and soul all its own that can provide a source of
daily inspiration," explains Ms. Warger. "When I look
into Tiki's and Tiger's eyes, I see a life that, while different
than ours, is filled with love and compassion and never-ending
adventure." Tiki's insights even provide a clue or two into
human nature, and her descriptive manner is uplifting and instructive.
The uniqueness of Tiki's approach is derived from the reality
that she is a Yorkshire Terrier. Her friend Tiger is a Maltese.
With great gusto, Tiki and
Tiger are already busy on three new manuscripts: Tiki's Travels:
With Postcards from Tiger; Tiger on Top: With Underlying Messages
from Tiki; and Tiki and Tiger's Walk Through the Suburbs: An
Alphabet Book also are scheduled for release later this year.
The book may be ordered from the publisher, Exceptional Innovations,
at 703-709-0136 or at their Web site, www.exinn.net.
Tiki and Tiger may be written to at their e-mail address: tigerandtiki@exinn.net.
Ms. Warger owns Warger, Eavy
& Associates, a communications firm in Reston, Virginia.
She is recipient of National EdPress Awards for various publications.
She also has received awards for her videos, including an Aurora
Award, a Golden Eagle Award, Communicator Awards, and Videographer
Awards.
